TLN2
MIM.607349 15q15-q21
Cell-matrix adhesions involve transmembrane glycoproteins such as cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) and integrins (ITGs), which are thought to function via interactions of their cytoplasmic domains with proteins associated with the cytoskeleton, as vinculin (VCL) or talins (TLNs: TLN1 and TLN2).
As TLN1, TLN2 serves a function of linking vinculin (VCL) (MIM.193065) to the integrins (ITGs), and, thus, the cytoskeleton to extracellular matrix (ECM) receptors.
TLN2 gene contains 55 exons and spans about 190 kb.
